JAY BLAUER (right) – Lead Coach for our U12 and U15 Girls Team's

Jay Blauer, currently the Vice Principal at Huntley Centennial School, developed his love for the sport of soccer as he moved throughout western Canada (Alberta, Winnipeg and Regina) before landing in Ottawa in his teens.  He played on a variety of premier teams throughout Canada as well as at Brock University where he received degrees in both Physical Education and Recreation.

Jay has had the pleasure of coaching youth in variety of sports including soccer, hockey, basketball, track, and cross country.  When asked what the most important role of a coach is, Jay responded, “To inspire.  Teach with the ability to celebrate mistakes.”

Jay found his way to WOSC through coaching his daughters in their determined pursuit of the beautiful game.  He feels it is a privilege to coach and strongly believes that sport can open the door to the world.

WOSC would like to thank Jay for his continued hard work and passion towards developing his teams!

ADNAN BASIC (left) - Lead Coach for U11 Boys Team

Adnan Basic grew up in Bosnia, playing in divisions in the ex-Yugoslavia.  Adnan’s coach in the ex-Yugoslavia imparted a piece of wisdom that he still follows today; a player needs to be persistent, focused and patient….never give up.

Adnan’s passion for coaching derives from his love for soccer, and his desire to pass on his experience within the game onto his players.

Adnan is the lead coach for the WOSC Boys’ U11 Black team and realizes that it is a great responsibility to be a coach.  Parents put their trust in the coach to help their children become the best player they can be.  He hopes to accomplish this by developing their understanding of the basic fundamental soccer techniques and skills.

Adnan plans to further his education within soccer by completing his coaching certifications.

WOSC is pleased to have such a dedicated coach on staff.
