The WOSC U13T1 Boys team have earned a silver medal in the 27th Annual Ambassador Cup in Kingston.. The highlight of the tournament came against in the semi-finals, after being down 2-0 with 15 minutes to go, when the boys showed great resilience and fought back to win the match 3-2 with some spectacular individual and team goals to book a place into the finals. In the final, the boys fell 2-0 against a very strong Caledon FC.
During the entire weekend, the team was solid in defense and creative in attack...dominating ball possession and playing some beautiful soccer in each game. The boys were able to outplay some very strong opposition. The team finished 1st in the round robin and ended the tournament with 4 wins, and 1 loss (in the final)...keeping three clean sheets in the process.
Head Coach, Haythem Joudeh commented on the performance: "These boys continue to impress me by rising above any challenge presented to them. We have a strong team culture where all the players encourage and help each other on the field even if things aren't going to plan. It was not an easy tournament with a few players falling to injury or illness but every single player stepped up and contributed to the team success. I am very proud of this group and we will continue to work hard in training so we can keep improving."
A big thanks to all the parents and families who supported the boys on and off the field. The team wants to dedicate this accomplishment to their teammate, Adam G, who was injured in the first match and missed the rest of the tournament.
