Tania Singfield is the director and head coach of the Golden Gloves Goalkeeper Academy. She taught her first class of 8 enthusiastic students here in the Ottawa area back in 1998. Her Academy to date has developed, trained and worked with all levels of goalkeeping including the likes of Erin McLeod (current Canadian National Team player and Olympic games 2008), Keenan Gracy above (current Wigan Athletic “reserve GK” in the EPL) and our own local GK, Jessica Hussey (silver World Cup medalist) to name a few.
Tania is constantly teaching the art of goalkeeping to the interest of hundreds of local and nation wide students who want to learn, develop and perfect his/her technical-tactical habits needed to play this specialized position.
She has also traveled throughout the provinces of Quebec, Ontario, Nova Scotia and her most recent province being Saskatchewan, in which she gave a coaching clinic in company with Frank Yallop (former Men’s National Team Coach) and Colin Millar (former Men’s National Team Assistant Coach) . This clinic was addressed to all youth coaches throughout the province and as well, included the Canada Games Team – 2004. She shared with them what it’s like to be a female professional coach and to have played at the National and Professional level.
Tania is now entering her 12th year with her Academy. The combination of her passion, knowledge and brilliance to develop her students in such a confident manner is simply unique and very special to all those who make the commitment!
